Getting started

ATLAS Scan Kiosk works with your school's ATLAS platform and must be provisioned by an administrator before its first use. A new install will not record attendance until it has been set up for your school.

  1. Install ATLAS Scan Kiosk on the iPhone you'll use as the attendance station.
  2. Open the app and grant camera access when prompted — the camera is used only to read QR codes.
  3. Have your ATLAS administrator provision the device. Once provisioned, the kiosk is ready to scan.
  4. Mount or stand the device at the entrance and leave it on the scan screen. Students hold up their QR code to clock in and out.

Frequently asked questions

The screen says "Scanner unavailable."

The app needs camera access to read QR codes. Open the iOS Settings app, find ATLAS Scan Kiosk, and turn on Camera. Then reopen the app.

A scan didn't go through, or the kiosk shows it's offline.

If the network drops, scans are saved on the device and sync automatically once the connection returns — no attendance is lost. The status line shows how many scans are waiting. If scans stay unsynced, check the device's Wi-Fi, or contact us using the details above.

It says a code was "Already scanned."

The kiosk briefly ignores a repeat of the same code to prevent accidental double scans. Wait a moment and scan again.

How do I open the diagnostics panel?

Press and hold the "ATLAS Scan" title for about 1.5 seconds. The panel lets an administrator check the kiosk's status and complete setup. It's intended for staff, not students.

Privacy

The camera is used only to read QR codes; no photos or video are stored, and the QR contains an opaque token with no personal information. See the full ATLAS Scan Kiosk Privacy Policy.
